Driving & Pulling  Harness
Ravenwood Miniature Donkey Farm

A Ravenwood Full Gig Harness is not just another harness. Each Ravenwood Full Gig Harness is handmade with attention to detail, custom-sized and fitted for the individual with each piece of the harness based on the mechanics of motion using European and American harness styles and designed to assist with movement and provide comfort for the animal. Only the best quality of harness leather and stainless steel hardware are used in the construction of a Ravenwood Harness.

The combination breast collar uses the forked double attachment of a Dutch collar to allow a full range of motion of the shoulder, the comfort of the wider shoulder hanger (over the shoulder strap) of the French collar, and the advantage of the modified martingale of the Bordeux collar to prevent the collar from sliding up and interfering with the animal's breathing.

Independent Bounce Strap
(((Click photo to enlarge)

The independent bounce strap performs by: 1. securing the adjustable tugs (shaft holders) to the shafts with a figure 8 wrap to prevent the tugs from sliding on the shaft; 2. Prevent the shaft ends from popping up during stops; and 3. Allow the animal to flex for ease in turning to reduce resistance and the tell-tale mouth gaping of needing to use more rein pressure to change direction.

Girth Holdbacks

The Girth Accessory straps (Girth Holdbacks or Fat Boys) from the hip-positioned breeching to the girth prevent forward creep of the girth without interfering with the animal’s ability to perform an extended trot.

Modified martingale

The advantage of the modified martingale of the Bordeux collar is to prevent the collar from sliding up and interfering with the animal’s breathing.
